Hi, I’m Courtny, and I’m new here!
As an out-of-towner, I knew before graduating college I wanted to make Cleveland my home. I had been watching with excitement as the city slowly but surely grew and prospered. When the Cavs won the Championship and the Indians were in the World Series in 2016, I had really secured my decision. The city was on fire and the community had rallied together, watching from afar just wasn’t doing it for me. I knew I needed to be a part of it.
When TCBL (Haley) asked me what I wanted to contribute to the Bucket List, I suggested a New-to-Cleveland bucket list. I moved to Cleveland in August, and have since been trying to experience all that the city has to offer. I already knew before moving that there were so many fun things I wanted to do! We would be here all day if I listed everything, so I’ve narrowed it down to my top 10 bucket list items for a New-To-Clevelander.
Ride through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Take a tour of the Great Lakes Brewing Company (especially during the winter, hello Christmas Ale we love you).
Shop and eat my way through West Side Market.
Participate in a bar crawl downtown (what better way to get a taste of all the best bars at once?)
Visit the Cleveland Aquarium.
Explore the exhibits at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Rent a kayak or paddle board and take a tour of the lake (we suggest Kayak 41 North in the Rocky River Reservation).
Eat at Barrio Tacos (because build-your-own tacos, what could be better?).
Bonus! Take a photo with all of the script Cleveland signs.
It’s so hard to pick just 10, and I’m sure I missed a few good suggestions for new Clevelanders... Let us know your suggestions in the comments below!
