The Loge at Geneva-on-the-lake will launch a new Signature immersion tour starting April 6th. The tour provides guests with an opportunity to experience Ohio’s wineries accompanied by The Lodge’s Certified Wine Specialist, Lauren Fiala. During the Signature Immersion Tour, Fiala will share engaging and educational insights about the Grand River Valley Region and the vintners that have helped make the area one of the fastest growing wine regions for recognition in the Midwest.
The tour is modeled after tours found in the Sonoma and Napa Valley areas, seeking to bring an upscale experiential excursion right here to Ohio. Eric Frantz, General Manager, The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, said, “We’re looking to create a distinctive experience that begins with insights from our on-board certified wine specialist and continues with a private tasting, vineyard tour and other one-of-a-kind Ohio Wine Country experiences.”
On the tour, guests will visit three premier wineries. Each guest receives a canvas gift bag, wine glass, and chocolate from Marianne’s Chocolates, a local chocolatier. The tour will depart every Saturday at noon and return to The Lodge before 5:00 p.m. and is $75 per person.
The three wineries the Signature Immersion Tour will be visiting:
South River Vineyards – Barrel tasting and private cellar tour
Hundley Cellars – Private tasting with food pairing (light appetizer)
M Cellars – Tasting and relaxation time
“I am passionate about wine and enjoy sharing all things wine with others. My winemaking journey has taken me from the Finger Lakes and the Limestone Coast of Australia to Matakana, New Zealand. I am thrilled to return to my native Ohio to help showcase the Grand River Valley region’s exciting winemaking experience,” said Certified Wine Specialist, Lauren Fiala, who also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Kent State University.
