Family Holiday Activities in Cleveland

There’s plenty of things to do with the whole family in Cleveland this season!

Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays - Tobogganing in Strongsville in the Cleveland Metroparks. Tickets are required.

December 1st- 16th (Saturdays & Sundays 11am – 3pm )– Meet Santa at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Tickets are required.

December 1st – December 30th - Kringles Inventionasium – a interactive theatrical experience. Tickets are required.

December 1st – December 30th - Holiday Lights at the Carlisle Reservation in Lagrange - Walk the ½-mile paved loop trail around the Visitor Center to see decorated trail stations themed to represent various classic holiday movies and songs.

December 1st- January 6th - Miller Nature Preserve Holiday in Who-ville Display - Relive colors, cool trees, bright houses, wild ornaments, charming residents, neat candy, and lighted wreaths in a re-creation of the story of the ‘Grinch’. 

December 1st – December 23rd - See “A Christmas Story” at Playhouse Square. Tickets are required. (Keep in mind Children under four are not permitted, except for specifically-identified productions.)

December 1st – January 5th - Visit “Glow!” at Cleveland Botanical Gardens - Explore the Evergreen Adventures children's area during your trip to Glow. Located on the second floor, this fun winter area is filled with games and activities. Play with the toy train set as you watch our model train zoom by. Crafts will be offered all day! Tickets are required.

December 1st – December 23rd - See “A Christmas Carol” at the Great Lakes Theatre. Tickets are required.

December 1st – March 1st  - Take a Horse-drawn Carriage Ride - All winter long, Ma and Pa hitch up the Sleighs and take you out through the woods and out in the field and then back to the Cabin for a warm fire, Ma's Cookies, hot chocolate and maple coffee. Reservations are required.

December 1st – December 24th - Scuba Claus & The Seas’n of Play at the Cleveland Aquarium. Tickets are required.

December 15th - Shaker Heights Friday Night DJ Skate - Ice skate to a live disc jockey, DJ Elliott Hastings at the Shaker Heights Rec Center.

December 15th - 16th - The Polar Express 3D - $1 Admission at the Cedar Lee Theatre

December 15th - 30th - View the Higbee's Holiday Windows at Pinecrest - Take a walk down Park Avenue – and Memory Lane! A total of 22 consecutive windows are decked out and dazzled to pay homage to Cleveland Christmases of the past. 

December 21st - Gingerbread House Decorating at Sibling Revelry Brewing - Get in the holiday spirit with your friends and family by decorating gingerbread houses at Sibling Revelry! Gingerbread Homes will provide the from-scratch, pre-assembled gingerbread houses and all you will need to do is come and decorate! Icing and candy will be provided to make your house look super sweet, and boxes will be provided to transport your house home.
