Sweets in the CLE: Cathy's Cleveland
Last night we had the great pleasure of joining a group of women at Cathy’s downtown in the Arcade to hear owner, Cathy Greene, talk about starting (and expanding?!) Cathy’s. This event was put together by Maria at Your Local Girl Gang. Sign up for her newsletter and follow @localgirlgang_cle on social media to join in on events like this one.
If you’ve yet to go, know that Cathy’s bakes all of the cookies for their cookie sandwiches in house, which makes them VERY tasty! She has a handful of different cookies and ice creams which makes for a pretty limitless array of options…. and then you can also add toppings!
At the event we tried two new holiday options! Which were both equally delicious.
Cathy came up with the idea for Cathy’s while studying for the bar exam, and opened Cathy’s soon after passing the exam. She’s not a Cleveland native but has definitely become a Clevelander. Cathy was quick to offer up some advice, “The greatest advice that I would offer to every single entrepreneur, no matter what level you’re at, is to always believe in yourself. Do not underestimate yourself or your capabilities and know that you have what it takes to succeed. “ She stated that venturing into this business was not something she knew a lot about, but her belief in herself has catapulted Cathy’s to what it is today!
We recommend stopping into Cathy’s in the arcade, grabbing a sandwich and then taking in the sites, including the gorgeous atrium of the arcade.
Cathy’s is Located at 401 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115.
